Position Overview
The Assistant Branch Manager supports branch operations by assisting members with financial needs—processing transactions, recommending services, resolving account issues, handling service enhancements, opening new accounts, and managing loan applications and documentation. They coordinate internal workflows (audits, cash controls, scheduling) and mentor staff under the Branch Manager’s direction to achieve operational excellence.

Responsibilities
1. Member Services & Teller Obligations
-
Open new accounts and screen applicants
-
Address inquiries and service requests (stop payments, check copies, direct deposit, card support)

Assist members with loan applications, closings, documentation, and setup of automatic transfers
-
Approve loans within delegated authority
-
Cross‑sell products and educate members on services
-
Process appointments: in‑person, mail, or phone transactions (deposits, withdrawals, transfers, fees, money orders)

Maintain cash drawer security, mentor MSRs and teller staff on limits and procedures
2. Branch Operational Efficiency

Ensure strong member service individually and through coaching

Manage teller drawer reports, attach receipts, research discrepancies

Participate in vault counts; monitor and order cash/coin

Lead internal audits, operational reporting, and issue resolution

File daily paperwork (membership cards, loan files)

Support branch sales goals, budgets, and plans—both personally and through team initiatives
3. Office Support & Policy Compliance

Ensure adherence to operational policies, procedures, and controls

Maintain safety and security of staff, members, and branch assets

Suggest improvements and implement operational guidelines to minimize losses

Manage mail processing, records management, and office filing

Attend and contribute in staff meetings
4. Coordination of Financial Education Course

Recruit and maintain contact with course attendees

Serve as course liaison; administer pre/post-tests
