Position
Description
Operations Technician 1 is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing,
troubleshooting, and repairing museum exhibits, including all electronic,
computer, and interactive devices.
This includes, but is not limited to, routine repair, scheduled
preventative maintenance and cleaning of exhibit devices.
Operations Technician 1 is also responsible for the following:
· The start-up/shutdown of museum exhibits
· The setup & breakdown of all A/V related event equipment and event
lighting, including providing technical support for museum events and rentals.
· The installation and deinstallation of temporary (traveling) exhibitions
as needed.
· Assist with weather and emergency situations as needed.
Position
Requirements
·
Training in a technical field involving electronic, computers or
A/V equipment.
·
Experience as a museum technician or service technician.
· Ability to follow instructions and complete preventative maintenance
tasks as assigned.
·
Lifting is required under 100 lbs.
·
Ability to use hand, power, and shop tools, along with forklifts,
scissor lifts, and pallet jacks.
Status:
Full-time,
40 hours per week, Wednesday – Sunday (1:30 pm – 10:00 pm). I.U.O.E. Local 835
