Sales Representative

The Publishing Division of theAmerican College of Physicians (ACP) is looking for a full-time Sales Representative. ACP, a national organization of internal
medicine physicians with headquarters in Philadelphia, is the largest medical
specialty organization and the second-largest physician group in the United
States with more than 161,000 members worldwide.

 

This opportunity involves the selling of physician recruitment and
classified advertisements in ACP’s publications, associated electronic
newsletters and websites and the ACP’s Career Connection website. The
successful candidate will be accountable for prospecting, marketing, selling,
and developing existing and new accounts in an assigned territory.

 

In this role, the candidate will actively maintain sales contacts
via email and telephone, with written proposals and presentations to physician
recruiters, advertising agencies, and other potential clients, as well as,
networking at industry functions.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintains
    existing and establishes new client relationships through regular contact by
    phone, email, and attending industry meetings and ACP’s annual conference.
  • Responds
    to advertising inquiries in a timely manner providing pricing and options
    based on the client’s advertising needs and budget.
  • Provides
    written proposals and price quotes as needed.
  • Identifies sales opportunities by targeting
    organizations advertising in competitor publications and websites. Contacts
    them to provide a consultative sales approach to establish new business.
  • Creates accurate advertising orders, manage and
    maintain client contracts, and meets deadlines.
  • Makes
    cold calls to inactive accounts in the contact management database.
  • Sends
    renewals and follow up emails for ads that are about to expire and for
    those that have expired to result in continued or return business.
  • Regularly
    updates contact information in Goldmine, our contact management system.
    Documents all communications, emails, and phone calls with clients
    establishing a detailed history to use when interacting with both
    established and potential clients.
  • Works
    closely with sales support team, production and account payable departments
    to ensure that all orders are processed accurately, payments are
    submitted, and deadlines are met.
  • Builds
    new client accounts in Customer Manager software.
  • Manages
    orders to ensure that the proper processing of ads is done to meet
    deadlines. This includes, documenting in Goldmine, booking the ad in
    Adbooker, and preparing space confirmations to present to clients.

 

SKILLS

·
Ability to identify customer needs and provides advertising
options for both print and digital advertising.

Detail oriented with an understanding of the advertising sales
process.

  • Maintain
    outstanding levels of customer service and relations.

Must be able to communicate professionally (oral/written) to clients
and all levels of the organization.

·
Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a pressure-driven
environment with weekly and monthly deadlines.

·
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Goldmine, or other advertising
contact management databases.

·
Knowledge of design programs: Quark, InDesign, and Photoshop a
plus.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s
    degree in Communications, Advertising or Marketing preferred.
  • Proven
    success in the sale of print and digital recruitment ads preferably in the
    physician and healthcare industries.
  • Ability
    to travel domestically.
