As a Product Marketing Manager, you are responsible for bringing our products to market and developing the tactics that drive optimal user and customer engagement. You are our primary product evangelist and will play a key role in developing marketing plans for product launches.

You know our users well including what they need today and will need in the future. You also know what our customers need, how they evaluate our performance and what’s going to keep them engaged. You back up strategic insights with supportive data and then use those insights to develop positioning and communication that resonates with platform users.  Our offices are in Washington, D.C. and New York – we are also open to having this person work remotely.


  • Market intelligence—become an expert on our users and clients, who are they and what they need
  • Understand the competitive landscape—be an expert on our competition.
  • Collaborate with product management, editorial and sales teams to develop product positioning and messaging that resonate with our users and clients.
  • Process and document user engagement including what inspires them, where they get their information and what’s behind the decisions they make.
  • Develop a marketing plan for the products you support based on your research in conjunction with our product teams, including key activities and budgets to support client experience and consumer engagement.
  • Develop KPIs and assess the effectiveness of the marketing programs that support your products on an ongoing basis, and report back to the business on required changes.
  • Develop marketing plans around launches of new products and features and releases and existing products, and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan.
  • Understand and support our sales channels; work closely with them on solutions that support the needs of both clients and users
  • Ability to manage various marketing channels, with a specific focus on member cultivation and user segmentation via email marketing including the strategic development of personalized communication, member acquisition, engagement and company promotion.


  • 3-5 years of product marketing experience that includes the development of direct to consumer marketing plans, email marketing, conducting competitor analysis and market research
  • Proficient in using collaboration and CRM tools
  • Experience with marketing automation tools such as Marketo, Pardot and Google Analytics.
  • Proficiency in use of social networking platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
  • Expertise in performance marketing (Email, SEM, Display) including ROI and performance tracking
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • People and management skills with the ability to interact with team members, staff, cross-functional teams and third parties.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing
