Overview:

The Director of Marketing Operations ensures Ascensus’ high-performing Marketing team is well-positioned to achieve goals in a productive, innovative, creative, and collaborative environment. This influential and high-profile role has four primary areas of focus:

Marketing automation Workflow management Organizational alignment Team building

Success will be largely dependent on a deep understanding of Ascensus’ Retirement, FuturePlan, Education, and Healthcare lines of business; skill in making connections between daily operations and strategic goals; the ability to keep teams informed, motivated, and on track; and enthusiasm for engineering and implementing operational processes and technology solutions to achieve efficiencies and drive outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, build, and manage the Marketing email program and team—with accountability for planning, campaign setup, audience segmentation, data-driven logic, development, deployment, controls, monitoring, and reporting
  • Lead, build, and manage the Marketing workflow management team—with accountability for optimizing the processes and systems used for the intake, evaluation, prioritization, audit, resourcing, handoff, tracking, and measurement of work
  • Further develop/expand the account management function within the Agency to provide dedicated line of business support and to drive greater synergies across cross-functional teams
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new technologies to advance Marketing team processes and performance
  • Establish a marketing automation roadmap with a sophisticated omni-channel approach designed for scale—further streamlining, customizing, and improving client experiences
  • Work closely with IT, Data, Insights & Analytics, and Digital teams to prioritize, execute, integrate, maintain, and measure marketing programs and campaigns
  • Introduce and manage email strategies to improve outputs and outcomes, including content presentation, AB testing, and progressive, behavior-triggered campaigns
  • Establish an intuitive information architecture for the storage and retrieval of digital assets
  • Generate ad-hoc and maintain standing reports and dashboards on marketing team activity, keeping leadership informed of notable trends, risks, opportunities, and alignment with goals
  • Reimagine and advance how the team documents and socializes workflow processes and procedures in order to establish common standards and improve onboarding, compliance, business continuity readiness, and risk management
  • Consult business partners on marketing opportunities and complete project briefs to determine/define objectives, scope, and organizational readiness
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure budget and expectations are met and to recommend improvements or changes
  • Protect, secure, and properly handle all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients

  • Lead, develop, and inspire Marketing teams that specialize in workflow, email, automation, and account management
  • Represent Marketing with decision-making authority on key operational initiatives Takes a consultative approach and use effective communication skills to present marketing ideas and secure buy-in from key stakeholders and leaders
  • Oversee the progression of key operational initiatives from conception to completion

  • Passionate about marketing automation trends, processes, and technologies
  • Experience working with MS Product Suite including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience in a regulated industry or Marketing agency
  • Four-year college degree, marketing/communications or related field
