Case Manager

The Samuel Staten, Sr Pre-Apprenticeship Program (SSSPAP)
purpose is to increase the number of under-represented populations, especially minorities and women, in the building trade unions in Philadelphia and Vicinity. 

Participants receive academic instruction  that prepares them to successfully perform on  apprenticeship entry examination/interview given by the building trade unions. 

Individual Development and supportive services and participants become familiar with the challenges that they may face during their union apprenticeship training SSSPAP staff work closely with the unions to assure that graduates enter into apprenticeship programs.

The Case Manager will work directly with  participants providing support services that will help program participants prepare for entry into the building trade industry. 

The Case Manager will assist with conducting intake activities, monitor and track the participant’s performance.

This position requires knowledge of basic methods and practices of construction, counseling and casework. 

The Case Manager must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills. 

The position also requires the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, maintain records and documentation related to participants’ activities and conducting follow-up
activities.

Basic skills with computers (word processing, spreadsheet and database applications) are required.   

A bachelor’s degree and minimum 2-3 years related experience preferred within an employment/training environment is expected. 

Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Salary will be based on qualifications.
